The Future

What a wild ride this year has been and will still be for a long time. It has definitely not been easy and it doesn't seem like it will get easier any time soon. I am thankful to be alive today, considering my not-so-great experience with near-death at the beginning of this year. Now having to deal with a deadly worldwide pandemic gets me a bit worried, but I am optimistic that I will be able to pull it through and hopefully get out of this situation to a better world.

Everything right now is uncertain and maybe we should all learn to accept that uncertainty and make sure we can take care of the things we can control, and learn that we all have a fraction of responsibility to deal with this crisis. Right now is not the time to promote individualism, we must acknowledge that our actions can affect others whether we want it or not and that this pandemic exists beyond our personal desires. What I hope the world I live in (and after me) can take from this situation is that we all strengthen our sense of community and shift our mindset for the benefit of said community, that's the only way we will be able to prepare ourselves for a crisis like this in the future.

To Dr. Steiling, thank you so much for your class, I really enjoyed it. I wish I had invested more time into making the most out of it. I think I will take this quarantine opportunity to go back to the readings from this semester I either left undone or read too quickly to actually get the full experience and dive myself into other worlds and stories. This is the perfect time for me to get back into reading more and distance myself from the chaos of the internet and social media for a bit.

Stay safe and stay sane!
